Copyright and IPR

old photosThe legal minefield...

One thing we know we can do technically for example, is convert relevant television programmes to be viewed on a mobile device.

One thing we know legally is that we would not be able to allow the student to have them on their mobile devices as we would then be in breach of the ERA licence and copyright law.

Of course any licensed digital content then has potential issues once you remove it from a secure network (VLE) and allow it to be used on a mobile device.

Digital Rights Management is an issue that we have also investigated especially in relation to the distribution of licenced and copyrighted content on mobile devices and this may be a barrier in the future.
