We are working on guides for staff on how to use software tools to convert content quickly and easily.
We are planning and working on a series of guides and worksheets which will provide advice and guidance to staff on how to design learning activites which incorporate content on a mobile device.
We are going to work with specific practitioners and groups to identify the best mechanisms for converting content, types of content that learners need and prefer with their mobile devices, what activities work, what potential there is.
We realise not everyone has a fully interactive multimedia mobile device, however these devices are already in development and for example today's expensive phone is tomorrow's cheap pay as you go phone!
In the future there may be opportunities for providing more capable devices to learners, but in reality we don't see this as the way forward as experience from other institutions demonstrates that providing the device doesn't always support the learner as intended.
